Betty Obuya APRN, PMHNP-BC

Betty Obuya, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing patient-centered mental health care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and completed her outpatient clinical rotations and residency program at Mercie Health.

Betty began her nursing career in Texas in 2008 as a nurse’s aide, later earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma from McLennan College. She continued her education, obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Excelsior College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees in nursing from Chamberlain University.

Throughout her career, she has gained experience across multiple specialties, including medical-surgical care, hospice, and pediatric home health, providing compassionate care to patients across the lifespan.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Betty takes a holistic approach to treatment and is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health while empowering patients to take control of their well-being.

Outside of work, Betty is an avid traveler who enjoys immersing herself in different cultures, spending time in nature, and exploring new creative outlets.
